I don't want a lot for Christmas...but I wouldn't mind getting a few things on my list! It's been a tough year and I think we could all use an abundance of holiday cheer. And what better to spread that cheer than with presents? Isn't that what Christmas is all about? (Just kidding! Happy Birthday Jesus!)
But, if you are so inclined to embrace the materialistic aspects of this fine holiday, then I am here to share my picks for some fun holiday gifts. Disclaimer: I have selected these items because I think they are cute and fun, but also because I want them all under my Christmas tree. Discuss amongst yourselves who will purchase which gift to present to me in a brightly wrapped package underneath said tree.
Without further adieu, I present to you (in no particular order) Daniela's I'll tell you what I want, what I really, really want, for Christmas: 2016 Edition.
S'well Water Bottle - I know this was on my list last year, but I still they're cool, and I still don't have one. I've seen some fun new designs this year, like the marble design pictured here. I also really love the shiny gold and silver colors. Bold, but classy. Sippin' in style!
Pig Bookends - If you know me or read my blog, you know I love books and I love pigs, not necessarily in that order. This gilded guy from CB2 (Crate & Barrel's hip little sister) makes a perfect placeholder for your literature. I just moved into a new apartment and I am desperate to for this little piggy to be mine!
Beaches by Gray Malin - You know I love the beach, so this book was pretty much made for me. A gorgeous coffee table book depicting aerial photos of various beaches around the world shot by famed Hollywood photographer Gray Malin. If you can't take a real vacation, flip through this book and imagine yourself sunning on one of the sandy scenes in this glorious book.
Dolce & Gabbana Rosa Excelsa Perfume - Stefano and Domenico have done it again with this flowery perfume with delicate hints of rose. It's refreshing, light and not overpowering. Perfect for everyday or a special occasion. Spritz this on and imagine yourself lying in a luxuriously fragrant rose garden.
Anne of Green Gables DVD Set - Netflix recently announced that they would be bringing Anne (with an "E") back to TV...or computer screens. I was ecstatic and am remaining hopeful that they will do the story justice. But nothing will ever compare to this 1985 PBS miniseries that had me captivated. This was actually the first program I taped on our brand new VCR, and a few years later I received the full miniseries on VHS. Alas, it is useless to me now in the era of DVD, Blu-ray and streaming. This will tide me over until the Netflix series premieres.
Peace Sign Wall Art - All I'm saying, is give peace a chance. It's been a tumultuous year in the world and the need to strive for peace has never been greater. This wire peace sign from CB2 is not only a modern and unique addition to your blank walls, but a constant reminder to work towards that peace in your every day life and beyond.
Nintendo Classic Edition - Another piece of nostalgia. Nintendo has brilliantly repackaged and reissued its original 1980's game console. Made into a more manageable size, this new and improved version is still the one you remember from your youth with 30 classic games included. I did not have the pleasure of owning one, but I had many friends who did and we spent countless afternoons jumping over pits of lava and dodging balls of fire to defeat Bowser. You're never too old for Super Mario Brothers! Right?!
Versace by Donatella Versace and Maria Luisa Frisa - Gianni Versace was a charismatic and innovative fashion designer at the top of his game in the 90's when he tragically lost his life, leaving behind a legacy that would take big shoes to fill. In stepped Donatella Versace, his sister, who took the reigns at the fashion house and made her brother proud. This book chronicles Donatella's journey as the new face of the brand through behind-the-scenes photos and personal essays.
Instax Camera - Remember Polaroids? This is the updated version. A fun, portable camera that produces a picture in seconds. They come in an array of fun colors and are great for capturing and sharing real photos instantly. Digital pictures are great, especially if you want to post them to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. But sometimes you just want a tangible photo to stick in the mirror of your bedroom dresser like we used to in the old days.
That's my list! Happy shopping and Happy Holidaying!
